Balenciaga The Sunday Bag, Spring Summer 2010

The Sunday bag by Balenciaga
ohhhh so adorable :))))))))))))))
made fr totally lamb leather
*eemmbeeekkkk beeeeeekkkk*
it comes with an attached mirror encased with its beautiful leather
so totally totally BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
the black one looked so ordinary and boring
guess I'm over with BLACK bags
so Monkey chose the CYCLADE
yes I know u'll wanna say that it's BLUE
but the name of this hue is CYCLADE
pronounce after me CYC-lade
*but this pic did no justice to the bag!!!*
Balenciaga has got so many colors.....made me go O_O
and they were all soooo PRETTY
since Monkey dun have a blue bag
and here we go!!!!!
after the poisonous visit, heheheheh say hello to her

and she already got a name
Ms. AVATAR!!!!
my very first BALENCIAGA~~~~~
*sayang sayang*

the leather smell was simply addictive
it's on my desk today and been sniffing on it
*sniff sniff sniff sniff sniff*
yes I 2010 resolution.......has already gone down the drain on 1st January 2010 when Monkey acquired Chanel Cocoon in HK

the above was a pic of some Balenciaga fanatic who aspired to collect all the colors

Jan - Chanel Cocoon
Feb - Monkey was too busy with CNY and KK trip to do bag shopping
Mar - Miu Miu sling bag
Apr - Miu Miu coffer
May - Balenciaga tote
I need to attend theraphy to kill this bag addiction
more like leather smell addiction

I seriously need H.E.L.P
*clutching Ms Avatar to console herself*

Angel Dreams by Zhang Jingna, Singapore

Monkey & JS & Berr are in Singapore right now
attending the great works by Jingna
and more makans + minums

Jingna was born in Beijing and moved to Singapore when she was just a lil cute 8-year-old.
she was truly a gift with such talents in arts, fashion and sports
in fact she started her journey as a sportwoman winning numerous awards
including Sports Girl of the Year when she broke a record for 10m Air Rifle

after 6 years.....she left shooting with air rifle......with her ever steady hands...she picked up a camera...
and shoot other things - photography
well the rest is history
her works are so sensual and romantic
at such tender age of 22, she's truly remarkable
having work for big names like Harper's Bazaar, Mercedes, Mont Blanc......
file pic of Monkey & Jingna
it was an honor to meet her in person 2 mths ago
*in fact we met last year at LawCie's wedding :P*
a beautiful portrait of herself

so if u r in Singapore pls do drop by at her solo exhibition

Japan Creative Centre,
4 Nassim Road,
Singapore 258372
29th May - 18th June 2010

Artemide Castore

remember this???
Artemide Castore Suspensione?
which came in 4 sizes
we got 2 of it :D:D:D:D
yes how the heck did Monkey fit it into the ceiling....hehehehheehe
this the mid size one suspending lights
*no the above pic is definitely not our home :P*

clever JS found a place to put it at the dry kitchen above the 9 feet long counter
yes why do we even need a counter that's so long?
u wanna compete for the longest bar in Saujana izzit?
well that's another long long long story :P
to complement it...we oso got the standing Castore
which dims and lights up according to the temperature of your hand
just hold it its slim tiny neck
and it will lite up

New Year countdown

it was 11.10pm and we walked down the terrace towards Wanchai's ferry terminal
looking like the above :P kekekekekeke
yep we were so in partay mood
and mind u, it's difficult to get JS out to partay *he's a partay pooper*
yes coz I drugged him with burgundy :P
when we reached the other side at TST
it seems that the whole HK has came out for the fireworks
chilling in the cold winter.

"excuse me ar...wat time u started camping out here?"
"7 pm"

ohhhh anyway thick-skinned us went and hijacked the best-est spot
and la-la-la-la with another bunch of eurasian tourist and pretended like nothing happened
despite the hongkies -_- x 100000000
still waiting
and there were so many of them bringing their own tripods
all I could see were SEAS of TRIPODS lining up at the square

"wahhh camera industry in HK so intense ar?"
then 60 seconds down the road....the crowd were cheering and counting down in
errrr CANTONESE!!!!!
me and JS were yelling in Manglish :P
it was a good 15 minutes fireworks
later party pooper n Monkey headed back to hotel
it was a tiring one coz it was the same day we touched down HK

Streetfood everywhere!!!

how not to stop and look and have a whiff
when these lil stalls are everywhere at every corner on the street of Tsim Tsa Tsui???
from a selection of steamed to deep fried, baked, grilled finger food
arrays of savoury to sweet bites prompting Monkey to stand still and enjoy the view
but most of all the SMELL ~~~~~

"I'm Hungry~~~~"
JS: "We just ATE!!!"

"but's so yummy and good"
JS: "grrrRRRRrrrrrr"

"and dinner isn't till another 2 hours away?"
JS: "We have a Michelin Star dinner reservation....pls dun spoil your appetite!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRR"

"I can still eat~~~ I promise I promise!!!!......puhhleassseeee????"

before JS can frown and grrrrr anymore...
Monkey already hopped onto the packed queue of hongkies
flipped her dollar and placed order for 2 items
2 items only mar!!!!
octopus balls with fresh octopus inside
served with a few dashes of umami powder, crispy seaweed and mayo
comfort food during the winter
*yes I know I'm way damn lagging on my posting....this trip to HK was during winter :P*
so while I was chomping on my octopus ball standing by the street
the sweet crispy pancakes cum waffles were cooking on their way
just right smack on I finished my octopus balls
it was all ready pipping hot

yummy so eggy I lurve the smell of eggs~~~~~
JS just watched in exasperation
for he can't do anything to stop this perpetually hungry Monkey
but joined in my snacking spree~~~

well the saying goes, if u can't beat them JOIN them!!!

"Hey I missed eating those grilled bacon with enoki can I have one of those as well? oooooOoooo the grilled soft squid looks good too...let's have one of that and maybe a grilled rice stuffed chicken drumstick"

heeeeeeeeeee lemme eat lor :P

Le Cepage, Hong Kong *One Michelin Star*

Le Cepage finally opened after months of delays.....
opened by Les Amis group of Singapore it was indeed an achievement to have a presence out of the island
located at Wing Fung Street in Wanchai...
it gave us memory of Les Amis at Scotts Road with its similar terrain
of uphill narrow street...Le Cepage is also on the left hand side of the riad

Upon arriving at the entrance...its exterior was a twin copy of Les Amis Singapore
it gave us a very very "homely" feeling..
"Are we in Hong Kong :P" asked Monkey cheekily to JS

so both Monkey & JS were there to celebrate the new year eve
an important transition from 2009 to 2010

Off topic:
OKAY I know I'm tad and super late on my posts but according to my lil Anya Hindmarch notebook...this post was supposed to be blogged by Mr. JS -_-"
as usual we made reservation at least a month ahead....
above was the canapes of tuna served on top of wasabi mousse on crispy cones

menu of the nite~~~~
JS was O_O alamak-ing when he saw pigeon on its main course
anyhow Chef Thomas Mayr made him wagyu instead :D
its interior plus cutleries and decos were all twin copies of Les Amis Singapore
with a partay pack for the countdown later :P
Cheers to a wonderful journey in 2009 with ya and more to come in 2010!!!!!
fin de clair oyster with cucumber and balsamic vinegar jelly
the 1st time I had fin de clair was in Southern nothing
can ever be compared to those there :P
chilled alaskan crab with avocado, green apple jelly at the bottom
I hated the caviar coz it's so earthy...never like caviar :P
caviar and truffles are on my least fav list
sashimi *that means raw* Brittany scallop *Brittany is in Northern France*
on top of champagne lime risotto
risotto was good
see the lime peels?
complemented the richness of the creamy Brittany scallop
turbot fish with artichoke and some unfamiliar lentils
the staffs there can't give me its exact name...and wrote to me in chinese instead
*aiseh I no Hongkie I no read chai-nese*
I also found this cute like caterpillar but not caterpillar roots kinda vege :P
crunchy and tasted like erm.....water chestnut?
super eppy face coz my fav of Chef Thomas on its way :P
organic egg with oxtail gelee and shaved truffles
but the best part was the iberico pork loin sausage
topped with crunchy croutons and chives
break the egg....mix the egg + oxtail gelee
JS's wagyu with very good marbling
served on its jus on top of brussel sprouts
heheheh my favourite
we had a personal tour around the restaurant which consisted of 2 floors of dining and 1 roof top terrace
with 2 separate wine cellar dedicated specifically to whites and reds
think we toured for bout 40 minutes :P

Randy See the Sommelier cum Operations Director was not in town when we visited Le Cepage
Le Cepage already earned its first Michelin Star just after 8-9 months opening its door

am sure they are heading for the 2nd one very very soon
with its chic ambience, superb wine list - the best by far in HK
*thanks to its operations in Spore...they bring in wines fr Spore...errr a bit weird rite?*
and a creative menu by Chef Thomas...think they deserve the 2nd star :)

my roasted pigeon with fried leg stuffed with foie gras
waaaah very very rich...I couldn't finish it!!!!
warm Valrhona chocolate espuna with gold leaves
lurve the caramelised cones which melts on my fingers :P
even the petit fours were just like Les Amis
Canales plsssss :)
and their famous homemade chocolates and I'll have my usual
kit kat and black sesame :)))))))
the waiter was surprised we knew wat's on the tray before he could utter a word :P
and hot fr the oven, their famous madelines :)))
very very eggy!!!!
we found that Le Cepage is too much a copy of its sister/mother restaurant
Les Amis in Singapore
well it's standardisation and globalisation but somehow we were expecting more fr Le Cepage
knowing the dining scene in Hong Kong is a step ahead fr Singapore
*well at least both are better than my dearie Malaysia :(*

however their wine cellars received standing ovation fr us
*clap clap clap*
u do need a very deep pocket to dine here as compared to Les Amis
or maybe I should just stop comparing :P
