Sam Kan Chong Noodle House

Sam Kan Chong has come a long way.....since the world war 2 in Malaya
it used to be a lil shop in Kuala Lumpur in between 2 other shops, hence locals and regulars named it Sam Kan Chong = 3 Adjacent shops

Sam Kan Chong's specialty are its meat balls
and its pork noodle :)))))))))))

Must try their dry pork noodles
it comes with black sausage aka blood sausage, topped with some minced pork
another bowl of meat/fish balls served separately

if u are expecting a bowl of greasy noodle with the usual fragrant pork lard then u'll be disappointed
because Sam Kan Chong's philosophy is their signature meatballs

anyway everyone has got their preferred pork noodle place
with their preferred taste and condiments
as for this Sam Kan Chong being franchised like any other bubble tea booming around town, its offers are really different.

Well when food are mass produced at another venue then delivered to the restaurant and food prepared by foreign workers, u can rest assured it will never ever be the same anymore.
I believe a few more years down the road, all these family-run F&B business will be gone....
all gone to big corporation, being franchised out etc etc etc.
on a brighter note, for those who lurve variety their curry toufu-pok and vege was pretty good.
yeah they do served a lot of food and side dishes here.

now Sam Kan Chong is everywhere in Klang Valley from Cheras to KL and Klang,
the one we went to was at Sunway Pyramid.

Pun Chun Noodle House, Ara Damansara

Nope we were not in Bidor, Perak but nearer to home :)))
Pun Chun is a household name in Bidor for its famous Duck Drumstick Noodle in herbal brothe
Located along the main road Jalan Besar of Bidor, in a 1940s building...it's as old as the building itself.

used to be the MUST STOP and EAT in the itinerary for all travellers commuting from KL to Ipoh via the old road before the existence of PLUS Highway
today, it is still a MUST STOP and EAT thingy for greedy foodie like us :P

and now it has opened a branch closer to home, in fact less than 5 minutes away
so on a windy Saturday morning, both JS & Monkey tottered to the outlet
"Hey it's so near we should have walked...and burn some calories too :D"
JS -_-" knowing I m a lazy person

the noodle was really chewy with that twang
in fact I think it's slightly different from the Bidor's noodle
hmm it could be the "cook"
hahahahhahaha

but I came here for this and THIS ALONE!!!!
the herbal duck soup
it's really different infused in all the yummy goodness of chinese spices.
almost like comfort food to me. :)))
but was so sad, coz they RAN OUT OF DRUMSTICKS!!!!
it was actually posted on their blog
hahahaha but why???
there's also the famous Ipoh dry curry mee,
char siew wan tan noodle,
sweet & sour pork trotter noodle,
chicken feet and mushroom noodle.

Super Kitchen Chili Pan Mee, Kota Damansara

the AMAZING one and only Chili pan mee in town
:)))))

started off in Kuala Lumpur by a family, now it have expanded to 6 branches and still growing. With locations dotting Klang Valley, pan mee lovers are rest assured they are "covered" as in good coverage hahahahahaha.

this was was taken during my last visit at a photoshoot a few weeks ago. We love photoshoots at this studio coz it's just directly opposite Super Kitchen Chili Pan Mee!!!!
WOOOHOOOOO!!!!

yes photoshoots are long and really long hours.
u could wake up before the sun rise for it and ended when the moon is high up on ur head
so every situation has got its silver lining and in this case for us chili pan mee to keep us sane!!!!

Pork Chop Noodle with condiments
all the noodles are handmade fresh from their HQ
with a variation of other snacks, u are really spoiled for choice
they serve curry mee, traditional pan mee *the one in soup*, fish head noodle and snacks like dumplings aka sui kows in variation of deep fried or in soup...

but when one is here...the holy grail is the chili pan mee :P
u may push the other dishes aside but not their famous chili pan mee

after breaking the egg yolk and tossing their homemade dried chili flakes
it's time to dig in

this is not ur usual chili coz it's really spicy yo!!!! with the occasional crunch that goes so well with the other stuffs like crispy anchovies and shallots...later I found the secret was slow baked dried soya bean innit...oh really??? then wat bout those ppl who has got allergy to soy?? hmmm..

Maybe the amount is very low...
>.<

anyway this is really good...never fail to impress anyone
from kiddos to grandmas
hahahahaha
I'm not exaggerating yo!!!

Pun Chun, Bidor

I can't remember when was the last time I went to Bidor,
the town of "chicken cookie" & sat keh ma

Chris da boss was so excited and had to make a stop there,
for his wan tan mee.
He kept on convincing me that it is the best in town????
Bidor wan tan mee with spare parts sausages
I don't eat spare parts.
hence it wasn't a pleasant experience.
I didn't know it was spare parts until I turned green eating this.
the famous Pun Chun Duck soup,
I should have ordered the herbal duck soup noodle instead.

the soup was so sweet and yummy
with loads for wolfberry.
plus I've got a drumstick.
nyek nyek nyek.

Whacked the whole bowl and continued our slow long journey............

this place also sells crispy yam puffs
pastries, cakes and delicacies fr Ipoh
and yes, u have to pay GST here.
