this is a fishing village on stilt
wooden houses were built on stilts until the government replaced it with concrete ones
good idea!!!

dun like the idea of walking on wooden planks with shaky legs
u can even see wat's at the bottom...kakakaka

malay homes, chinese home all just next to each other
this is wat I called 1Malaysia
pls make this place an example!!!!
Monkey was all excited to walk into Kampung Buli Sim Sim
"Oh no!!! we have to walk on the stilts? wat if we fall into the sea? is it safe?"

well this view is normal considering this place is a fishing village
there are a few excellent seafood restaurant
or should I say, home converted to restaurant :P

as we were busy oggling at their daily works and life on wooden stilts
customers were busy having steamed lobster for breakfast

as the early sea breeze blew
the lone ranger swayed gently
but it looked like it will collapse anytime!!!

Breakfast at Sim Sim, Sandakan

this was a surreal breakfast for miss monkey
we went to Kampung Sim Sim located by the shore errr or shoreline u call it
houses were built on stilt with a narrow walkway

well this was the coffee shop we went to for a ravishing breakfast

it was actually a house converted to a coffeeshop
tables were scattered at every possible corner
and customer were slurping their yummy noodles
Monkey and Bernard da Joker waiting for seats
the windows overlook the sea

and their lil kitchen....which was as narrow as the walkway
U'll be surprised at how systematic they were
JS bought these honey baked anchovies earlier at one of the home-shop
really yummy

deep fried won ton was really crispy and good
with loads of goodies inside
we called it "chinese ravioli"
stewed fish stomachs....errr I dunno how to consume this but the men said it was really good
finally the NOODLE!!!!!! homemade egg noodle with homemade chinese ravioli/dumplings
some called it "sui gau"
this shop makes em and export em to Hong Kong
coz it's such a delicacy with a HUGE PIECE if
CENTURY EGG innit

we wanted to buy those frozen sui gau with century eggs back
but it seems u need to make advance bookings for it

Manukan Island, Sabah

We arrived at Manukan late morning
*yes after the fun boat ride...hehehe*
the island was already packed with tourist
the last time we went to this island was 2007

can see the corals kekekekeke
we walked to the other side of the island to get a nice shot across
the view of Sutera Harbour in red roof greeted us
backed up some beautiful mountains

This side of the island has more rocks and less tourist

the sea was so turquoise!!!!
and good visibility of corals

later we walked around the island

Mamutik island is just right across

Monkey can't decide where to land her bum to enjoy the rest of her afternoon

every single spot seems so nice and I wished I can rent a hammock and sleep there
finally found a nice place under a beautiful tree

the 2 bummers sat under the tree for 2 hours I think
more like slept for 2 hours

Monkey bought tonnes of bread to feed the fish

come come.....it's makan time!!!!

no....they looked like prawns but they were not!!!
the colourful ones were parrot fish

I'm so sorry there's only plain stale bread for sale here
otherwise I would have bought you orange + poppy seed bread
cheese sticks, 5 grains bread and my favourite sourdough
:)))))))))))))

errrr I dun think I can feed them those :P
Manukan Island even provided tourist the definition and description
of each and every types of fish swimming there
as always there's an ending to every outing
and soon we hopped to Beach Bum for another
terrifying and fun ride home
hehehhehe

can always come back again
