Bigger, Badder....aaAAAAaauuuuuu *howls*

Big Bad Wolf Sales....
Can u believe it I haven't heard of this annual sale???
at all !!!!!

Shell Shell was so kind to invite all of us for this sale
we didn't know where it was....when....and wat's in store for us
all of us just hopped into her car and let her take us to wherever this place was...
the S.A.L.E.

u see ever since God created women
*I dun even know if god did really created women...but that's another long story coz I'm an atheist*
this species on Earth....the intelligent one....the women has this favourite past time to do which is Shopping!!!!!
hahahahahahahahaha

Shell Shell sent us the flyer a week before
and all of us were like OK...let's go....since we were free on that particular Sunday
didn't really know wat to expect as well....

all we were afraid of was the queue may be long
it must be damn hot and stuffy
with tonnes of screaming and crying children
and that parking is gonna be horrendous
but I was so wrong
so SO so so so WRONG

not that it wasn't an attractive book sale
we were just so wrong...

Parking were ample, stretching kilometres away since it was held on the ground of a University
at each designated parking area there is a nice white marquee for u to wait for ur lil cute bus
to fetch u and your dearie friends to the expo hall
and the weather on that particular couldn't be any kinder...it was cloudy with soft breeze blowing our hair as we were chitter chattering, excited to be part of this largest badder thingy

3 mins later, we were at the entrance of the hall
the whiff of friend yummy Colonel Sander's chickens whet our appetite
oh damn...this is big....even KFC has their own truck selling food!!!!!
I felt like a child goin to a funfair!!!!

Shell Shell was so clever and past each one of us a nice sexay RED cloth recycle bags
it's gonna be our shopping bag for the next few hours....
so the 4 of us separated and promised to meet each other an hour later
at the cashier counter....
M
Mee Mee, Shell Shell, Nee Lee

1 hour ain't enuff....we spent much more than tat
later exhausted seated together in front of the cashier counter

and again we were wrong..
the air cond was full blast at this huge expo hall
nice music of our generation were playing
lots to see
lots to buy

I was in frantic!!!
I dashed into the photography section 1st looking for something for JS
all the hardcover National Geographic photography archives were goin for RM 20
all the helpbooks and Dummies and Idiots books were goin for much less than that

Travel books were at RM 10
maps were goin for RM 8

Sidney Sheldon, Danielle Steel, Jeffrey Archer, Sophie Kinsella, Amy Tan, Candace Bushnell, Nora Roberts.......
the list was never ending
all for RM 8
even the vampire books aka Twilight New Moon watever moon were selling at 8

then the bibliographies
all goin for less than 10

and then the Cookery section,
the Romance
the Sci-Fiction
Non-fiction
Help books
puzzles
Children section
past months imported magazines at RM 5
Religion books
Health and beauty
Travels
Interior Designs, architecture
Humour

there's more and I can't remember.....

then later we sat in the comfy cool expo hall with thousands of ppl
with cardbox flatten out on the concrete floor to be seated on
and started comparing..."Wat u got wat u got???"

hey i got this...u dunnit to get...we'll exchange after I'm done reading it
wow...this is good read
where did u get this??? I want!!!
is this author good?
I like her style of writing
What is this??? they have box sets???
Can I borrow this when u r done??

and kept running back to grab more books after our chitter chatter on the floor
taking turns to guard the big piles of books that we have gathered
coz there were shifting eyes of other shoppers snooping at our catch

yeah I know it's the last book and u wanted it too....or u can't seem to find it outta the 1.3 million of books out there...I dun blame u...
but SORRY it is MINE!!!!! so now will u stop staring and get on???

well obviously I was not being rude to tell them that....I didn't say it
but my HOSTILE body language and looks and eyes said it all....they got it and moved on....
I myself got 27 books at RM 180
*JS's books cost the most per piece, mine were all 5 or 8 dollars*
just couldn't believe my eyes....
I wished I have more time and a trolley as big as Tesco's
so I can push my way through the crowd and store my purchases innit

so in total among the 4 of us...we got hundreds of books!!!!!
for about RM 500
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHA
WWUUUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HEEEEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHAHAHAHHAAH

Shell Shell, we can't wait for the next Book Sale!!!
pls pls pls pls let us know in the future ok??? we go on the 1st day instead of on the last yea

and I really don't mind spending half a day here...coz all the books were unwrapped
so u really do get to read them before u buy em

and the checking out counter aka cashiers
I must say they were so so so so so darn fast
there weren't much of a queue bcoz they have 25 counters with 3 person working on each

and UOB credit card members get an additional 5% discount
well which none of us own one :P

for the past few days...my nose found its way
diggin into those books
now I can't wait to exchange my pile of snatch wtih my galfriends
*I do any books cept children books ok*

Big thanks to Shell Shell for this
now we just need to scheme how to smuggle a Tesco shopping cart outta Tesco
I really do need one...not just for this sale
hehehehehehehe

so Readers....

My First attempt at Rock Climbing

Acrophobia
that's wat I am since I was a lil gal
I can't lean on the balcony even though it's only a floor's height
can never climb up a ladder till the top
will never ever look down fr a high building
almost fainted when we took the express lifts up to Eiffel Tower Level 2
had a difficult time working when my table was next to the glass window in Petronas Twin Tower
nightmare while riding all the cable cars in Langkawi and Hong Kong
legs turned jelly while climbing Kelly Castle's roof top *I know it's not high at all*
wanted to die on all the roller coasters rides

and THIS
I still wanna do this!!!!!
why do I succumb to such pain and fear???

I guess I had so much confidence in my friends
that I left my life in their hands~~~~~
introducing a seasoned climber, Nee Lee
she still called herself an amateur *I don't believe u!!!*
if u climb 3x a week that's not a beginner OK
>.<
Next our loveliest photographer for the morning - Shell Shell
she did climbed once a few months ago and decided it was not her thing *she's scared of heights too*
so she rather had fun sitting down there.....giving moral supports which I needed badly....
I was so in PAIN
not bcoz of the anxiety
nor that I forced meself to climb
but the damn climbing shoes!!!!!
GAWD is this how it feels like in "foot binding" during the Tang Kingdom in China?????

cringed in pain
can't even stand up
I couldn't walk
and I was told this is how it's supposed to be
look!!! my feet is at least 1.5 inches longer than the climbing shoe ok!!!!
I thought how absurd....it wouldn't fit in
it took the longest time of my "shoe" life to cram meself into this pair
while seated the feeling wasn't so bad as compared to standing up

the moment I stood up
standing and weighing my own body weight ALL of it unto those delicate tiny toes
I think no cases of dancing whole nite in my 5.5 inches heels
or running events for 8 hours on those can be compared to this

this was Chamber of Torture!!!!!
GAH~~~~~
next, when face to faced with the intended wall I wanted to chicken out
I actually asked Shell Shell.....can I not do this? :P
what have I gotten myself into?
but JS alwiz told me to conquer my fears
my Si Fu Nee Lee then taught me some basics
and she was such a natural
in a blink of an eye she's up there
I was like....GAH....Wat...The....FFFFfffffffffffffff~~~~~~~
how am I gonna do tat?????
this was where we were....
the place won't allow unsupervised climb
it's a rather dangerous sports anyway
now.....get some basics right...
those pebbles/stones are rather small and it won't accommodate ur gigantic feet...
so the key is climb sideways with one side sticking to the wall
it looks easy but isn't at all!!!!
lots of strength is needed for this sport
if it can tone up my ass/butt I'll start to do this every weekend...
can it Nee Lee?????
after some "safety" briefing and basics by my Si Fu....it's about time...
I was still monkey-ing around la la la la la~~~
but when the Real Thing hits my face...I really really wanna throw away the shoes, run back to my car and leave :P
Si Fu Nee Lee got up first
in a few nano-seconds
so she can guide me up from above.....
OK...hmph...I CAN DO THIS!!!!!
feet secured....grab the right pebbles/stones
lift urself up with ur calves and feet and not with ur arms
all the safety reminders kept playing in my head
strategize ur moves!!!!! and coordinate ur limbs!!!!
if u can't do it....just let go and fall backwards
there's a soft mattress at the bottom that catches u
I didn't wanna be tat......I'm a proud person and hard headed too...
this Monkey continued on.......
I was like Gah-Gah-ing my way up
like a Drama Queen
more like a Diva
to the contentment of other climbers around
wat a joy to watch right???
Shell Shell was giving me full blast moral support at the bottom
"Don't look down....don't look!!!!"

WTF!!!! this is the thing about human...the more u ask them not to...
like a forbidden garden...the more they wanted to...

and I did look down.....GAH!!!! GAWD!!!
let out such a diva-ish scream
WAT THE HELL AM I DOIN HERE????

it was already halfway...
too high for me to fall backwards
my muscles stiffened...
it was like the most important decision ever....

almost like do I get the Chanel or the YSL?
both is so tempting and dangerously expensive...
I can't have both...

well in this case, it's my LIFE
the worse came....*well at least not the worst yet*
I was stucked...with no more strategic pebbles/stones to hold on to...
i took the wrong route...
can't strategise....it's like a game of chess
and started to panic even more
Nee Lee was guiding me step by step
"now hold onto the pockets and u step onto that bla bla bla yada yada"
all those climbing jargons...@.@

Monkey: "Fark!!! dun tell me pockets or watever shit was tat...tell me which color!!!!"
muffled under my heavy breathe...I was getting tired already
all the energy were spent panicking :P
the Victorious moment was captured well by Shell Shell
my First Climb :))))))))))
and I'm glad I did it :)))))))))
Nee Lee was luffing so hard
coz we were being drama
I wanted to cry coz it was so scary!!!!

I dun care wat other climbers say
I dun even care if they were luffing at me
or scowling at my language "fark here n there and the occasional bitch"
and all the noise pollution I've created for such a peaceful activity in this indoor climbing house of sports

then there were applause
I felt GREAT
:P
esp with Shell Shell and Nee Lee
I've needed every single ounce of support they've provided me
I was still shaking after I've got down.....
yes I was that scared

other thing that made me cursed like I was giving birth
was the goin down part...
totally unaware of this!!!!!
hmph!!!
before I could compose myself
before I could rest my painful feet

Nee Lee was up there again....for the 2nd time
in such speed lightning moves
such agility and grace can only be attained with numerous hours of practice
okie.....I'm coming up again said this proud Monkey
this round taking a different route

I thought the 2nd time would be easier
the fear would be lesser
hell no....it was the same

just like wat JS told me when he did Bungee Jump
and clever him went for the Buy 2 Free 1 Package
every jump was as scary as the first
so after the 2nd jump he decided he had enuff....so long for the buy 2 free 1 package
hellooooo nobody goes for this sort of thing u know??? it wasn't a good bargain afterall
again I needed help at the end....
didn't know the last bit could be so difficult
like which leg to land up there first...
whichever it is...my legs aint' long enuff....
GAH!!! so dear readers....
this is the first time I'm publicly displaying the view of my rear
hmmmmm............
not a very proud moment
I was stucked there.....at the top
coz my feet can't touch the platform on the otherside
basically I'm not "landing" well
the only thing I could do was clutching to this artificial wall for life
it's either I fall to my right or left
if I do fall on the later....I might land on Shell Shell and injure everyone
after that all I could do is watch Nee Lee scale the wall
gracefully
while me and Shell Shell were just clapping at every moves
:P
hehehehehehehehehe

I'm really glad that I did it
at least once in my life
as another friend told me, it's pretty addictive
I wanna do it again :))))))))

Roomies.....Thank You for taking me there!!!!
it was an awesome morning!!!!!
Muaakkksssss

Annam, Scotts Road Singapore

Hah!!! I got u...
u think this is Indian food don't ya?
well after it did sounded Indian

so the guys suggested simple food for lunch over some outstanding wines
well after all the STAR is alwiz the wines...not the food

Annam was just opened on the first week of October 2011
very very spanking new place

and we immediately got swooned over by its French Vietnamese decoration
from cutleries to its interior

Annam is helmed by Chef Nyuyen Quoc Nam
better known as Nam
he aimed to showcase that there's more to Vietnamese food than the usual Beef Noodle *pho bo* and Spring rolls

so Authenticity is the keyword and his philosophy
*well from wat I've garnered from his menu and food and the restaurant...not that I've actually met the man himself*

all the waiting staffs were also vietnamese
which made communications really really difficult
other than that, the Team did really strived to provide a friendly, top notch and comfortable dining experience for each and every diners here in Singapore

Annam has got this cafe bistro style concept
simple, fuss free and yet never forego quality
well that speaks fr the price tag on its menu

J&J Jelina said the price of one bowl of Pho Bo here can feed a person in Vietnam one month
but well....it is a different in terms of quality and ingredients used here

some deep fried pork spring rolls
the fillings were equivalently as yummy as its skin
sorry I've just got this fascination with Vietnamese Spring Rolls
coz the rice paper that they used are jsut so different

the taste is really fine I tell u
very balance on the palate, not too salty nor single dimensional
good texture with lotsa bite
yea u won't want ur fillings all minced up don't ya?

this ain't pohpiah folks
it's the original Vietnamese spring rolls
with its delicate fillings of mixed herbs, chives, carrots, pork floss and prawns

another type of rolls
since we didn't know wat to have
and obviously Monkey's 1st time to a Fine Dining Vietnamese cuisine
as opposed to my usual squat-down-by-the-road-side stall in Saigon
*the key of eating in a foreign country like in Vietnam is to have wat the other table have...hahahaha...can never go wrong with locals rite?*

spring rolls medleys~~~~~
with its respective dips

some bamboo shoots salad
sorry I don't even know its name
coz everything was arranged and served

to be eaten with this crispy shrimp crackers

Clams and Basils
the taste is very authentic here....as close as it can...
just that it's a bit cleaner and not too heavy

Pho Bo
beef noodle
u can never ever go without this.....
a good hearty bowl of beef noodle with all its spare parts and condiments
*well not that I'm a spare parts person*

another version of  noodle
just that this one is spicy
somehow it was a disappointment - very flat in terms of taste
or prollie the beef noodle was so tasty that it beat this one.....F.L.A.T.

Pork Stew
very very home cooked style
U can feel that the Chef is trying to re-lived his memories as a child in Vietnam
really a comfort food

Star Dish was a Chargrilled Chicken with spices
the chicken was so tender and juicy to the bite
with the fragrant of kaffir lime leaves all over

everyone was so mesmerised by this kaffir lime zest salt
it just elevated the chicken to another level
highly recommended
just ask them for the chargrilled chicken with lime zest coz I certainly do not know the name of this dish

we had a few bottles of wines there
the rare gem is the Cros Parantoux 1991 by Emmanuel Rouget
mad wine makers :P
so rare u can never buy them anymore and JS been combing the whole South East Asia for stocks
looks like u gotta do wine shopping in Europe and London then.

somehow Vietnamese cuisin dun really pair well with wines
I've insisted of goin to Les Amis for lunch but it was closed for renovation and the folks wanted to try this new place...
all the beautiful herbs, mints, basil and limes just dun go well with burgundy
would love to have this baby again with different type of food.

the gang~~~~~~
M People usually gather together either for Wines, Food or Pokers...

a type of dessert in coconut milk
something like our version of bubur cha cha just that this is more fine

the highlight was this creme caramel with palm sugar
served with crushed ice on top
my favourite ~~~~~~~

no meals can be complete without caffeine hahahahaha
out came the famous Vietnamese Drip Coffee
very very strong which kept me goin for hours and hours and hours of shopping after that
bahahahahahaha
J&J Jelina and Monkey
busy with Baby K
she finally let me carry her coz I've got an iPhone
T_T

she looked exactly like her mommy
and that includes thrashing out Loubotins outta its shelves at the boutique
and goes WAH WAH WAH at the handbag boutique
speaking about genes......
well sometimes u have to start them young
even way before they can walk...

We are leaving next week
time to pack the bagssSSSssssss
our 6 dearie bags....tee hee hee
3 for him and 3 for Monkey

flightsSSsss secured? checked
