Merry Christmas

We spent last Christmas at Shell Shell's place, which the reader probably remembered reading about, briefly, in this post. There weren't any plans this year, but a couple of hours before Dec 24th, we suddenly decided to have a simple BBQ dinner gathering on Christmas Eve, at Shell Shell's again!

Her Christmas tree was out and decorated, complete with presents (and drinks...)

Can't have a decent party without decent drinks...

There were lots of food.....

... but unfortunately much less photographs of food because once the coals were alight, everyone got their hands soiled cooking and eating, so no one was left to play photographer. Ah Fai prepared pomfret in several flavours - sambal, black pepper, thai style, fremented beans - for grilling. He would had cooked his signature Asam Fish if Shell Shell hadn't stopped him.

When the drink-loving Bear came, he made a cocktail of mango juice, orange juice and 3 types of liquor, in a pot!

Everyone had to drink it because the Bear simply wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. Fortunately, he didn't make it so strong this time, so I wasn't knocked out (granted, I only took several sips, which resulted in him calling me green-tea drinker now...)

A little while after dinner, the men adjourned to the front yard for more food, drinks and smoke. We girls stayed inside to............... open the presents! There was 1 for each person (many thanks to S who brought them), but we opened every present there, so we can choose which ones we wanted for ourselves (yea... I know what the reader is most likely thinking)

All the presents were very Christmassy and really put us in the Christmas mood!

Merry Christmas everyone :)
