Hai Boey Seafood Restaurant, Penang

this restaurant is not stranger to notti monkey's blog
a quaint eating place at the end of Penang after the Bayan Lepas airport

however pls do make reservations in advance as it is alwiz packed
and if there's certain items/seafood u want, pls oso book in advance.
pic above was selections of all the rare groupers and rare snappers
forgotten their chinese names :P
Hai Boey has its own private beach
Dinos the Great was so eppy when he saw the beach + swing
hehehehehehehe
think it's mean for the kiddos lar

and unidentified island
no wines
only beer
1st dish was the peppery pig stomach soup
the stomach came separately
waiter then cut open the stomach to unveil a black chicken
which was heavily stuffed with ginkgo nuts
stomach full of treasure
and its soup
very fresh fish stewed in claypot
it was so sweet
steamed clams in imperial stock
which was laced with tonnes of garlic
simple stir fried french beans
bali tong
slow cooked winter melon with stuffed goodies innit
with mushrooms, SEA CUCUMBER, ABALONE, scallops and more sea cucumbers :)))))
star of the nite was this
deep fried huge mantis prawns
*at least 30cm in length*
fried with salted egg yolk
finger licking good :D

must eat with hands :D
fried hor fun with yummy sea prawns
the hor fun/ kuey teow used here was the wide flat type
Prince C & Saint Veeny

FOOD lar...wat else :P
we also managed to catch the sunset together
aaaa beautiful place with yummy food
will definitely come again

  1. The fish in the tank got sou mei(napoleon wrasse), 7 sing pan(coral trout) and Lou sei pan(literally translate to rat grouper.....cos got a face like rat)!
