Dinner at Kampar, Perak

it was a tiring day after the golf event,
all of us rushed to cross over the Penang Bridge
to avoid the jam
and zoomed down to Perak
with a heavy downpour
steamed prawns with julienne ginger and chinese white wine

Kampar is a ghost town,
we'll never drive there for makan.
Prince C was the one who suggested this place.
another huge prawn in sweet caramelised sauce
comfort food!!!! double boiled roasted pork knuckle soup with toufu and pickled chinese mustard.
really yummy esp during rainy days.
caramelised roast pork
fried bitter gourd with eggs and salted egg yolk!!!
highlight of the nite was this fresh soft steamed toufu
almost tou-fu-fa liked
we had 2 portion of this
steamed fish was very good too....
gone in under 5 minutes
after dinner we walked to the opposite side for desserts!!!
yeah behind these green old wooden door is a small medium industry
churning cakes and sweets
so afraid that it will fall apart if i touch em
aunties selling chinese kuihs and more sweets!!
and they were darn cheap
Baby Wei, Monkey, Mommy Jacky
all of us bought something fr that Kuih Auntie
and they were so fresh and yummy and soft and sooooooooooo NICE!!!!

then it was time to part ways and head home
Monkey stayed on in Ipoh for more food
:P
will try to blog more bout it

opsss haven't even blog bout makan + work trip in Penang.

Mcdonalds.....I'm hating it

We saw this on the dura trans ad....
greediness and curiosity really killed that morning

JS was having his usual cappucino at McCafe
me and Si Fu Lawrence were looking at each other
knowing that our stomachs were growling and hungry
klu.....kluuu....kluuuuuuuuuuuuu..

yea it was only 10.30am and since they were still serving breakfast
we had to wait...tick tock tick tock
come sharp 11am Si Fu dashed in to purchase the Le Grand Beef Sandwich
*we were seated outside al fresco fast food dining*
wow it's HUGE!!!!
it's supposed to be a gourmet beef sandwich served in between fresh ciabatta bread
*I much much much soooo much prefer San Francisco Coffee's ciabatta*

with a huge beef patty with mixture of swiss and cheddar cheese
and the usual miscellaneous tomatoes, onions, mayo.

And This Was What We Got

hmmmmmm nope Si Fu and me took a bite each
and left it there to rot

langsung tak sedap!!!!
the garlic chili sauce was the only consolation
coz mind u we dun get this garlic chili sauce in Msia.
the other gourmet stuffs in the menu - Oriental Spicy Chicken at SGD 2.50 only

but lazy to try already...moreover lunch was merely in another hour away.
next time i'll try the double fillet o fish with wasabi!!!
:)))))))))))))))))))

sorry lar Si Fu,

J&J James and Jelina hosted this dinner at the famous Akashi

and the usual edamame
AGAIN....it's supposed to be a SIMPLE dinner
everyone did TRY to stick to the SIMPLE theme.
from simple dressing to simple wines and simple food.
but when this Chambertin presented itself onto the counter
everyone fainted
and simplicity lost its meaning that evening.
